Vintage 1953 Rolex 6202 Turn O Graph with Ring Bezel Watch Case

    The production of Vintage Rolex 6202 Turn O Graph was discontinued in the early 60's because it was overshadowed of a wider acceptance of GMT's and Submariners in the market. I am showing you a Rare watch case of a Rolex 6202 Turn O Graph.

The ring bezel functions as it should.

    This watch case was made on the fourth quarter of 1953 making this watch as one of the first Rolex Turn O graph being made and a watch worth collecting. The serial number of this case starts with 19. Again, I am not sharing the photo of the serial number for security reasons.

    We cleaned the lip of the inner side of the outer case before we sold the case because some corrosion are starting to form on it. The thread on both the outer and the back cases are not damaged and function so well.

    Both the model and the serial numbers can still be seen with a naked eye. The lugs are free of corrosion.

    I have heard stories from old Rolex watch collectors here in the Philippines that during the popularity of Seiko watches in 1970's, Filipinos with Rolex Watches will replace their Rolex movements with Seiko movements! Some also threw away their Rolex Sports dials and replaced it with a Seiko Divers Dial! It is true and it is not a joke at all! Let us all start laughing! HAHAHA! No offense meant to Seiko, I am just being amused with my fellow Filipinos.

Vintage Rolex Buckle 18K Solid Gold

    Good morning from the Philippines! I am sharing with you a Vintage Rolex 18K Solid Gold Buckle. All original in 18 Karat solid Gold.

Signed Rolex SA 750 on the inner side of the buckle.

    This Vintage Rolex 18K Solid Gold Buckle can be used used for any Solid Gold Rolex Dress Watch with a 16MM lugsize. This was sold a few years ago. I was so happy that these item was not milted and turned into a wedding ring or a Chanel copycat earrings or a copy cat Bulgari keychain!

Vintage Rolex Explorer 1016 Watch Case

 

    I have observed in my country, the Philippines, that a Vintage Rolex Explorer 1016 is not a preferred collectible Rolex Sports watch. Some of the collectors I knew buy more of the Vintage GMT's and Submariners. But in the diverse international watch market, a Vintage Rolex Explorer has an equal footing with GMT's and Submariners. I am sharing with you a Vintage Rolex Explorer 1016 watch case produced in the first quarter of 1963.

     As expected of a used and a vintage watch, the case has some scratches and dents.

    Although there are some remnants of a corrosion on the lip of the inner side of the back case, the watch case still closes tightly.

    Again, I am not sharing the photo of the serial number for security reasons but it starts with 901. The model number can still be seen even with the naked eye.

Vintage "BIG ROLEX" Logo Riveted Bracelet for Old Sports Model with 19MM Lugsize

    

    Most of the Vintage Riveted Bracelets I have seen for Old Rolex Sports Model are already worn out. I am sharing with you a Vintage "BIG ROLEX" Logo Riveted Bracelet with 19MM Lugsize in near mint condition. I presumed that the former owner of this bracelet did not use it on his old Rolex Sports model.

  The bracelet is signed on the buckle. The buckle is a matte finished. The production year of this bracelet was 1959 and I wondered on what kind of a Vintage Rolex Sports Watch this bracelet was fitted on before.

Vintage Rolex Submariner 5513 Faded Bezel Insert

    The pearl is missing on this Vintage Rolex Submariner 5513 Faded Bezel Insert but the faded bezel insert still looks desirable. It has some scratches due to wear.

    I am showing two more photos because the reflection of the sunlight on the bezel hides the triangular design where the pearl is placed.

    I hope that my posts would somehow help any newbie collector in search for any perfect parts for their collectible Rolex watches. This was sold some years back.

Although the item is tiny, it has a huge importance to complete the set of hands of a Rolex GMT Master 6542 Watch. This is relumed. This was sold 6 years ago to a gentleman from Italy.

    I am sharing with you a photo of a Vintage Rolex Submariner 5508 James Bond Tropical Chapter Ring Gilt Dial for No Crown Guard that I have sold several years ago. The dial has aged and so with the lumes. Please note of the "dot" below the six o clock hour marker.

Huyamaw and Casa Rica Islands near Barangay Consuelo, Cantilan, Surigao del Sur, Philippines

   I live in the province of Surigao del Sur, Philippines. Our place is one of the poorest provinces in the Philippines. Though a poor province, our place is gifted with beautiful natural scenic tourist spots. But for now, our place is not yet on the local and international tourists radar. I cannot blame the tourists for not including our province on their itinerary because the road from the city going to our place is really bad. But since the Aquino Administration has lived up with its words, there is now a road rehabilatation in our province. Our small airport in the province will serve customers again starting this coming July 2014. It has stopped operating for a decade. 

   I am sharing with you the two small islands that are near in Barangay Consuelo, Cantilan, Surigao del Sur and are nice to visit if you happen to drop by my province. First is Huyamaw Island. It has a white pinkish sand. Pristine Blue Water. Untouched. To reach Barangay Consuelo, there are tricyles waiting for passengers in Cantilan near Espinola Store and Panadero. I forgot the name of the street where Espinola and Panadero stores are located but everyone in Cantilan knows where the two business establishments are. Please just ask around. The tricyle fare going to Barangay Consuelo is Php 20.00 (US 50 cents) per person. Before reaching Barangay Consuelo, you will pass and use a wooden bridge and for the first timers, it is a scary experience but worth the adventure. Travel time from Cantilan to Barangay Consuelo is roughly 15 minutes. When you reach Consuelo, ask around for a boat rental. Almost everyone in the Barangay owns a boat because the main occupation of the villagers is fishing. You can rent a boat that can carry 3-4 persons for Php700 peso (US12.00). Leaving my footprints in Huyamaw Island

   The second island is Casa Rica. It has a white sand and the size of the island is 500 square meters only. The distance between Casa Rica and Huyamaw is estimated at 100 meters. Casa Rica is a favorite place of the locals of Barangay Consuelo to spend their Birthdays and other Special Occasions. You can bring in some fresh seafoods and grilled them in Casa Rica but please do not forget to bring back home your litter to help the place free of garbage. I see though some broken Beer bottles and I really appreciate people not to break bottles in the island for the safety of all the visitors. No entrance fee is needed to enjoy the beauty of the two islands. The best time to visit the islands is during the months of April up to October for it is the dry season of the year in Cantilan. Board shorts, comfy tee-shirts, and slippers are the best attire to wear and bring sunblock for UV protection.

   The fastest way on how to reach Cantilan, Surigao del Sur is by air travel. You can book a flight over the internet with Cebu Pacific from Manila to Tandag, Surigao del Sur. Flight time is 1 hour from Manila to Cebu. You will have a 2-3 hour stop over at Cebu Mactan International Airport because there is no direct flight yet to Tandag. The travel time from Cebu to Tandag is approximately at 45 minutes. Once you set foot in Tandag, take a tourist van ( parked and waiting for passengers outside Tandag Airport ) going to Cantilan, Surigao del Sur. Travel time on the road is around 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once, you are travelling on the road from Tandag to Cantilan, you will see some tourist destinations and surfing sites along the way.
